How can I tell which generation I have?
The generation will be indicated on the bottom label of the speaker. The first generation will appear simply as "One".
Can I stereo pair One (Gen 2) and One (Gen 1)?
Yes, this speaker works seamlessly with the preceding generation.
Can I stereo pair One (Gen 2) and One SL?
Yes. We recommend you stereo pair One (Gen 2) with One SL as there is no benefit to having two voice-enabled speakers in the same room.
How does One (Gen 2) use Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)?
BLE can be used to temporarily communicate with your phone/tablet to simplify the first-time setup process. It does not support audio streaming.
Can I stream using Bluetooth?
This speaker does not have Bluetooth connectivity but streams audio content over your WiFi network. Internet access allows you to stream higher fidelity audio over greater distances, group or pair Sonos speakers, access your voice assistant and more.
Can I use the Sonos S1 Controller with One (Gen 2)?
